Before nylon cable ties were widely marketed, ropes and cable ties were generally used when fixing wires or objects with traditional techniques. With the development of society, traditional ropes and cable ties have slowly withdrawn from the market whilst nylon cable ties have become more widely used. The main reasons are as follows.
Traditional ropes and ties are generally made of PVC or fiber materials, which will quickly weather or rot over time in daily use and cause inconvenience to the objects after use. The traditional PVC cable ties require iron wire to strengthen its toughness and tensile strength. However, because the appearance of some PVC in use will be detached or aged for a long time, the iron wire will be exposed and directly pierce the object. What’s worse, if it is connected to electrical wires, there is a danger of electrical conduction.
Whether it is a rope or a traditional cable tie, it is more troublesome in actual operation, including the scale of the worker's operation and the high labor cost. However, the use of self locking nylon cable ties is relatively simple because of the same dimensions and the high use efficiency.
The nylon cable tie itself has high tensile strength, impact resistance, strong acid and alkali resistance, and a certain fire rating which can reach 94V-2. These advantages are not available in traditional ropes and ties.
Moreover, the environmental protection requirements put forward in the world, especially in Europe, make it difficult for traditional PVC materials to meet the standards.
The above-mentioned comparative advantages have gradually enlarged and expanded the application fields of nylon cable ties. From the early applications in the electrical appliances field, they now cover almost all fields that can be used. After considerable development, the nylon cable tie industry has formed a complete industrial system and category. However, compared with the developed countries, the production process and technical content of the nylon cable tie industry still have a certain gap and many shortcomings. Nylon cable ties manufacturers still need to make effort.
From the perspective of application, with the development of global economic integration in the 21st century, both the global economic level and the per capita consumption of plastics will also further increase.
The nylon cable ties were mainly used in the field of electronics and electrical appliances in the early days, used for wiring tightening. With the enhancement of social industrialization efficiency, the application field has been gradually enlarged and expanded, covering almost all areas where binding is required, such as construction industry (strapping scaffolding), agriculture (building a shelf for crop growth), clothing industry (tags), food industry (tags, vegetable bundling), postal services, express delivery (bundling mail) and so on.
